One-pager or a website with several pages?

One-pager or multi-page website? When a single long page is enough, when subpages are worth it and how Google finds your individual services.

One-pager or a website with several pages?

A one-pager is a single page you scroll down: services, about me, prices, contact. A classic website has separate subpages for these. Both have their place.

When a one-pager is enough

  • You offer one service or a few that belong closely together.
  • Your customers come through recommendations and your Google Business Profile, not through searches for specific terms.
  • You want to be visible quickly and affordably and rarely change the site.

A one-pager is quick to build, easy to grasp and loads very fast. For hairdressers, small trades businesses, driving schools or individual service providers it is often the best choice.

When subpages make sense

  • You offer several clearly different services, for example heating, plumbing and solar.
  • You want to be found on Google for each service separately. A dedicated page for "heat pump Ansbach" can rank for that search, a paragraph on a one-pager hardly can.
  • You have a lot to show: references, team, job ads, blog.

The compromise

Many businesses do well with a strong one-pager as the home page plus two to four subpages for their most important services. That is my "Business" package with up to five pages.

What both need

No matter how many pages: legal notice, privacy policy, a way to get in touch, a design for mobile and the basics for Google. And texts a human can understand.

If you are not sure which option fits, that is a question for the free initial conversation. I will tell you honestly if the smaller scope is enough.

Expanding later

A one-pager can be extended with subpages later. If the site is built cleanly from the start, you only pay for the new pages, not for a rebuild. That is why it is not a mistake to start small.

Frequently asked questions

Is a one-pager bad for Google?

No. For searches for your business name and your main service plus location, a one-pager works well. It only gets harder if you want to be found for many different terms.

How long can a one-pager be?

As long as you have something to say. Five to seven sections are common: introduction, services, why you, process, questions, contact. Longer usually does not make it better.

What does the difference cost?

With me: one-pager 249 euros, up to five pages 499 euros, up to ten pages 999 euros. The extra cost goes into the additional pages, the design stays the same.
