Websites for hair salons and beauty studios: still worth it?
Many salons rely only on Instagram and Google. When your own website still makes sense, what belongs on it and what it should cost.

Many hair salons and beauty studios get by without their own website: Google Business Profile, Instagram, appointments through an app. That works as long as customers already know you exist.
Where Instagram and Google stop
Instagram only shows your posts to people who follow you or happen to come across them. Someone who is new in town and googles "hairdresser Ansbach balayage" lands on websites and Business Profiles, not on your Instagram profile. And a price list, opening hours and your team are much easier to present on a website than in story highlights.
What belongs on the site
- Services with prices or at least price ranges. Customers want to know beforehand.
- Opening hours and a button to book, whether by phone, WhatsApp or your booking system.
- Photos of the salon and the team. Your own photos that show what it looks like at your place.
- A few examples of your work.
- Directions and parking.
- Legal notice and privacy policy.
What it does not need
No blog, no newsletter, no ten subpages. A one-pager with the points above is completely sufficient for most salons.
What it costs
With me, a one-pager costs 249 euros and is ready in about a week. Hosting costs 39.99 euros per year if you do not want to take care of it yourself. You change new prices or a new team photo yourself in the small admin area, or you send them to me.
Adding online booking
If you use a booking system, link to it prominently. Make sure the provider processes data in the EU and that you name it in your privacy policy. If you do not want online booking, add a WhatsApp button and your phone number instead.
Connecting Instagram and your website
The website links to your Instagram profile, and the profile links to the website. Embedding Instagram posts directly on the website would transfer data to Meta and require a consent banner. A link is enough.
Frequently asked questions
Isn't my Google Business Profile enough?
For regular customers, yes. For new customers who want to compare, and for anyone searching for specific services, the website helps. Also, the profile belongs to Google, the website belongs to you.
Do I need photos from a photographer?
Not necessarily. Good phone photos in daylight, a tidy salon, your real team. That looks more honest than perfect studio shots.
Can I change the price list myself?
Yes. You change prices and texts in the small admin area I set up for you, or you send me the change.
