Creating a landing page: structure, examples and cost

A landing page is a single page with exactly one goal: the visitor should call, send an enquiry or book an appointment. Done right, it brings more enquiries than a general home page. Here you will learn how to create a landing page, how it is structured and what it costs.

Landing page or website?

A website presents your whole business, with services, team, contact and often a blog. A landing page focuses on one offer, for example "bathroom renovation in Nuremberg" or a promotion at the start of the season. It has few distractions and one clear button. A one-pager can be both: the whole website on one page or a landing page for a main offer.

When a landing page pays off

  • For online ads, so clicks lead to a matching page instead of the home page.
  • For a special offer or promotion.
  • For a service you want to make better known.
  • As a quick start when there is no website yet.

How a good landing page is structured

  • A headline with the benefit for the customer, not the company name.
  • A meaningful image, ideally a real photo of your work.
  • Three to five concrete benefits or services.
  • Trust: real reviews, photos of projects, details about experience if they are true.
  • The process in a few steps.
  • Answers to the most common questions.
  • A clear button to enquire, several times on the page, plus a phone number and WhatsApp if you like.
  • Legal notice and privacy policy, mandatory in Germany even on a landing page.

Common mistakes

  • Too many links and menus that distract from the goal.
  • Made-up reviews, seals or artificial time pressure such as a countdown that never actually ends. That is misleading and can violate competition law.
  • Not tested on a phone.
  • A form with too many required fields.

Landing pages and Google

A landing page with real, helpful content can rank on Google like any other page. Many almost identical landing pages that only differ in the town name, on the other hand, are treated by Google as doorway pages and therefore as spam. Variants that are only meant for ads can be excluded from indexing.

Create it yourself or have it built?

With website builders or AI tools you can create a landing page yourself for free or cheaply. The real work is in the content: what is your offer, why should someone enquire, which photos and reviews do you have? If you are clear about that, you can get far on your own. If you want to save time, have the landing page built.

What does a landing page cost?

That depends on scope, texts and technology. At DEVOSWEB a landing page is possible as a one-pager for 249 euros, with design for phone and computer, contact form, legal notice and privacy policy.

How to measure success

Count the enquiries that come in via the landing page and check in a privacy-friendly visitor statistic how many visitors the page had. That tells you how well it works.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create a landing page for free?

With free plans from website builders, yes, but usually with the provider's ads and without your own domain. For a business, your own domain is worth it.

Does a landing page need a legal notice?

In Germany, yes. Even a single business page needs a legal notice and a privacy policy, both easy to reach.
